Employer- Employee Matching with Intermediary Parties: a trade off Between Match Quality and Costs?

Abstract

This paper implements an agent-based model of job matching with intermediaries. The model examines how contractors' fee rates and improvements to match quality influence the firms' willingness to use contractors. Other consequences of outsourcing are explored, including how intermediaries influence unemployment rates and the skill distribution of workers matched through intermediaries.
